5 Best Eye Products

Since my teenage, I have always struggled with having a problematic under-eye area with issues such as dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. Although many people are unbothered by the shadowy look of their under-eyes, I have always tried to find a solution that would help me get rid of those raccoon eyes and not make me look like I had only 3 hours of sleep! Since the area around the eyes is thinner and more sensitive than the rest of the face, knowing the ingredients in the products you wish to apply is imperative. Hence, eye serums and creams are the best to address various issues concerning the delicate skin around your eyes such as dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and crow’s feet.

You might consider adding some options to your daily skincare regime to eliminate those stubborn dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness. This article focuses on the active ingredients, applicability, and overall results of the top 5 eye creams and serums.

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Anti-Aging Eye Serum

The Ordinary’s skincare products have been known to be the best affordable options in the skincare industry therefore this eye serum is a great affordable option for treating issues like dark circles and puffiness helping to get rid of that tired look from your eyes. The key ingredients in this eye serum are peptides that are gentle on the skin with retinol and vitamin C that aid in firming the delicate and thin skin around the eyes. To get visible results use it twice daily, either in the morning or at night, for four weeks.

The serum’s texture is a bit too watery and the dropper-style applicator makes it difficult to manage the amount one should put on the eyes. However, you might want to consider another serum if you are looking for long-lasting results because the results from this one aren’t great in the long run.

U Beauty’s The Return Eye Concentrate

If you’re above 50 then The Return Eye concentrate infused with U Beauty’s signature diamond powder is what you might want to add to your nightly skincare routine. It is a highly hydrating formula that deals with the signs of aging such as fine lines and improves overall skin texture around the eyes. It is packed with ingredients like glycolic acid which aids in skin renewal along with marine plankton and hyaluronic acid which penetrate the deeper skin layers to give the skin an unmatched radiance and glow. It will make your under-eyes feel softer after just one use!

As this product is recommended to be used at night, therefore one must look into other eye serums or creams to be used in the daytime.

Ilia Beauty Bright Start Activated Eye Cream

One of the best award-winning eye creams on the market to target puffiness around the eyes. It has a list of wonderful ingredients such as avocado extract, caffeine, peptides, sea fennel extract, and pearl. The hero ingredient is the fennel extract, a plant-based retinol alternative, which gives you firmer, brighter, and smoother skin around your eyes. Moreover, the combined effect of peptides, avocado extract, and caffeine reduces puffiness and makes you look less tired. It has a ceramic tip applicator that helps to depuff due to its cooling sensation which is a great way to start your day!

As it is a cream formula and not a gel or a serum and has a little bit of pigment, it takes a few swipes to get completely absorbed in the skin.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Gel-Cream

It is an affordable hydrating gel-cream formula that keeps the under-eye moisturized throughout the day. It works well on oily skin as it is oil-free and non-comedogenic, so you don’t have to worry about your pores getting clogged after using it. The key ingredients are hyaluronic acid and glycerin which give you hydrated, plump, and dewy skin around your eyes. Its lightweight texture allows it to sink immediately into the skin.

It is highly scented which may cause contact dermatitis. It also leaves a blue hue on the skin suggesting it is not a dye-free formula.

Cetaphil Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream

Cetaphil is a gentle drugstore skincare brand. Cetaphil Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream works exceptionally well for people with sensitive skin by supporting a healthy skin barrier. The active ingredient is one of my favorites- Hyaluronic acid! It binds with the water in the deeper layers of the skin and keeps it hydrated and fresh for up to 48 hours. It also comes with a silicon applicator which makes it easier to apply the product to the desired area.

While it is highly effective for locking in that hydration, it doesn’t have ingredients to target major concerns like dark circles and fine lines.

It is important to consider the issues that you want to address because that would determine the skincare ingredients and ultimately the product that would work best for you. Let’s say you want to target dark circles then you might want to consider products containing ingredients like caffeine, Vitamin C, or Kojic Acid on the other hand if your major concerns are fine lines and tired-looking eyes then my suggestion would be going with eye serum/cream packed with peptides and hyaluronic acid to achieve a more hydrated and smoother under-eye area while also targeting the fine lines. There beauties! Next time you build a skincare routine don’t forget to add an eye product to make those pretty eyes more radiant and youthful.
